Problem
Operating within the retail industry, this startup faced significant logistical challenges that limited its geographical reach. Although there was demand for their products in additional regions, their existing delivery system had a limited reach.
The Qalam Approach
Qalam Consulting met with this client to understand the challenges they were facing, their goals, and organizational values. Based on our findings, we concluded that the startup would need to expand its delivery capability to Northern Ontario. This would allow them to fully address their total target market and would also provide them access to government subsidies by expanding service to underserved regions.
Due to the sensitive nature of their product, traditional delivery services would be unable to transport the product over long distances. We conducted thorough research and found specialized transport services suited to their industry. We also found warehousing and storage solutions so that the product could be stored closer to the final destination. This ensures that the product spends less time in transport and preserves freshness and overall quality.
Results
The client received a strategy and implementation plan to access tailored services that would allow them to fully utilize their target market. This enabled a potential increase in sales, allowing the client to reach a larger market, as well as potential aid from subsidies.
